What Are You Waiting For to Move Forward?
Have you dared to DREAM these past few months as you’ve followed this series? Have you been paying attention to what God has impressed on your heart?I hope you’ve sensed Him calling you to step out into some new area of life—a ministry, an activity, a job, schooling, a relationship—and been challenged. My friend, Karen, is allowing herself to be stretched by reaching for new levels of fulfillment and accomplishment. How?
- By signing up for an internet course on how to launch a blog for teachers and parents who take care of children with Autism.
- By accepting an invitation to address a writers’ group.
- By being willing to go on mission trips to teach about autism and help those who need more knowledge and training.
As someone who has seen her capabilities for a long time and urged her on, I’m excited to watch what God is doing in and through her life.My hope is that we all want to hear these thrilling words and do what it takes to hear God say: “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things.” (Matthew 25:14-30)
Who benefits from your courage?
You do. You will see that you are far more capable than what you might have thought.
Others do. Whatever your new steps lead you toward, if God is leading you, others will benefit.
God is pleased. He created you with abilities. He has blessed you with strengths, talents, gifts, education, and countless other good things—and He wants you to invest these for His Kingdom purposes.
So let me ask you one last question:
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
- The right person to come along?
- The children to grow up?
- Somebody to take care of me?
- To finish my education?
- Someone to notice my plight?
- Someone to offer me a job?
- My financial problems to end?
- Something bad to happen?
- Someone else to change?
- Someone else to make the decision?
- Someone to discover me?
- What else?
This list of challenging questions is taken from the chapter, Where Do I Go from Here? in I’m Too Young to be This Old.
