Five Life-Empowering Promises
Two years ago, I underwent heart surgery and have done well since then.Instead of fear and dread, I was flooded with joy as well as peace—which certainly isn’t a normal reaction to such serious surgery. But knowing Biblical truths about God assured me then, and now, that:
- He is not surprised by any event.
- He sees every detail.
- He gives supernatural courage to wimpy people like me.
- He is faithful to fulfill all His purposes for our lives.
This is true for you, too!In case you’re facing something hard–whether a trial, temptation, or time of confusion and pain, here are five life-empowering promises you and I can count on:
- Isaiah 42:16 — “I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them. I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.”
- 1 Corinthians 10:13 — “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”
- James 4:7 — “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
- Philippians 4:6-7 — “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
- Romans 8:28 — “And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Never believe you are alone with no resources to help you–God is there and He is faithful to His word!
