Are You Safe?
Friends who knew I was travelling and speaking in the Middle East these past two weeks were asking, "Are you safe?" With bombs being sent via various planes and terrorism being a real threat in many parts of the world, it was good to know that with God, I am always safe!
Do I mean that no follower of the Lord will get attacked or lose their life? No! God doesn't wrap us up in cotton and say that we will not experience what the rest of the world faces. But what He does promise is that all will be well. Ultimately, all will be well.
In Ps.34:4, David writes:
I sought the Lord and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears."
One of God's greatest blessings is peace of mind, and I felt that in every situation and on every flight from Oregon to London to Oman and back. Whatever the risks we all face in today's world, we can experience an inner peace that comes from fixing our minds on God's love, goodness, faithfulness, and presence with us (Isaiah 26:3-4). I don't know what you are facing, but let me encourage you to put yourself in God's hands and trust in the Lord's purposes for your life.
Hope you enjoy this photo of some of the international women I spoke to in Oman. They were wonderfully warm and just like you and me! Will show more photo's in the next few weeks--so be sure and sign up for THIVE and check my website for a glimpse into the fascinating world of the Middle East.
Blessings from the God who is always present,
Poppy
